Routine Health Reminders
At Hills Family General Practice, we believe that partnering with our patients means that we take an active role in health prevention and reminding our patients about these activities. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. With your permission, we like to use SMS and email to remind you of these preventative health activities. Please let us know if you do not wish to be included in these reminders systems. You may also receive reminders from national and state agencies like the Immunisation register and the cervical screening register.
Results
Whenever you have a test of any kind, it is important that you understand how you will obtain the results of the test. You should talk to your GP about this. Your GP will usually advise when they expect results to arrive at the practice. Call us to find out your results and ask what they mean for your care. It is often best that results are discussed with your GP in person. At other times, the result may be conveyed to you by other team members by telephone, email, sms after the result has been checked by your GP per your consent. If the GP needs to see you they will request that you make an appointment. For normal or non-urgent results a message will be returned to you within 3 days.
Telephone Access
Our doctors and team may be contacted during normal opening hours. If they are with a patient, a message will be taken and the reception staff will advise you when it is likely that your call will be returned. This will normally be at lunch time or evening. Please tell the receptionist if it’s urgent so that fast action can be taken. In non urgent cases a call will be returned within 2-3 days.
